Basic Necessities For Make-up Beginners

makeup beginners

Have you finally given in to jumping into the world of makeup, but you don’t really know where to start or what to get for yourself? We have a list of basic things that you’ll need to get started. You may already have a few of these but haven't decided what to do with them, but if you don't and plan on purchasing them, don't forget to look at woolworths coupons for some exciting deals.

Lip color

There are a large number of formulas that are used and different forms, all just to add a pop of color to your lips. You don't have to go out and buy those expensive brands until you've determined what color looks best on you and what type of tint you're most comfortable with. Get a basic shade of red, pink and maroon to get started and either use different numbers of layers to figure out the color you enjoy more or mix the shades. The form of lip color decides the intensity and application of lip color and often coverage. Grab a lipstick and a lip liner to get basic coverage, a gloss for a shiny look or a simple tint for light coloration. You can layer these on top of each other to get more or less coverage. Mix, layer and experiment.

Eye liner

Liquid eyeliner, gel liner and pencils. These are the basic forms and other names that you might come across are most likely just modified versions of these. If you are still deciding on what thickness and style would suit you, grab yourself a pencil since it is easier to maneuver and you can keep experimenting without making much of a mess or even damaging your skin. Liquid eyeliner has a neater look to it and requires some time to learn the application, but keep learning. Gel liner gives the best of looks but since it sets quickly it is harder to clean the messed up one so make sure you only get this if you have a hang of liner application or know exactly what shape and thickness you want it to be.

Mascara

If you want to make your eyes pop or just simply want your lashes to appear thicker and longer, then this is all that you need. Make sure you don’t get lost in different formulas and specifically get the waterproof one as it will not only last for a long amount of time, but it will also give the right amount of volume to your lashes without weighing them down.

Lash curler

Now this is a necessity for you if you don’t have ample or luscious lashes and are straight. Using this will help you get more volume along with an uplift that can completely change the look of your eyes.

Blush

Depending on the number of products, you should use them if you want to go with a tint, liquid blush or a blush in powdered form. It’ll help you get that look of color and will make you appear more healthy and fresh. Applying it to the tops of your cheeks will give you a soft glow, while applying it to your cheekbones will give you a more defined look.

Eyebrow pencil

The need for this depends on the thickness of your eyebrows or your want for a bolder and sharper look. You can even switch up the arch and even fill in the gaps with it. But be very careful, as every stroke matters.

Highlighter

The Highlighter is the definition of the cherry on the top in the make-up world. It can help you achieve a dewy look and even that sun-kissed glow.

These are the things you need to highlight your features and control the intensity of your look. Get started to glow a little different.
